The Beginning of this Journey...

The Lord began this journey towards our second adoption about 1 year ago. He put on our hearts to sponsor Kay - at Harmony Outreach and we did. When i first saw her, i fell in love with her and prayed for her to join our family. It wasn't until May 2008 that the Lord began to use her to open our hearts to adoption again. That was when we had John Bentley from Harmony Outreach (her foster program) staying with us and he told us that Kay was ready to be adopted internationally. We prayed about her and began the adoption process again. Unfortunately, it wasn't in God's plan for her to join our family but He did use her to open our hearts up to adoption again and we are excited to see where He takes us. We are Trusting in Him.

The Lord has brought Maylynn into our lives and hearts on Nov. 21st (that is when we received her referral). We are excited to see Him bring her home to us. Please pray for the rest of our journey. We can't wait to bring Maylynn home...

Guangzhou July 31

Not too much exciting stuff going on today... We left Guilin and said our goodbyes to David this morning - we arrived here at the White Swan hotel around 2pm.  We love it here - feels very familiar... we went to Lucy's for a late lunch - please keep pr-ying for Maylynn - she hasn't eaten much today and seems to take steps backwards on the days that we fly:( it's been a rough day:(

We have her medical exam tomorrow morning at 9:30.  She is supposed to get 6 shots! and 1 TB skin test!  It brings tears to my eyes to think of what she has to go through tomorrow - this is a new rule in place from the US National Visa Center.  They have just started to require the orphans to have all of their shots here at 1 time and children over the age of 2 have to test negative to TB.  In the past, this was the parents responsibility to do once we got back to the US under the expert supervision of our pediatricians. We are not happy about what is going to happen tomorrow.  Many people have written letters to senators and congressmen - we plan to when we get home...

That's all for today... thanks for all your pr-yers - we need them!

Ps.  we were able to skype home this morning and it was wonderful to see the kids - we miss them soo much!

Glad you're in familiar surroundings and the comforts (!) of Lucy's!! Hope that Maylynn doesn't hurt too much after all those shots...ouch, poor thing. (My agency gave us a form to agree or decline the shots-- as if it was an option?) Continued prayers for you. P.S. I looked at Meiying's photos that you took about 100x's... I hope she likes me. I can't wait to meet her.

We have "philosophically disagreed" with vaccines and have opted out of any further inoculations on our children. Sometimes, as with your situation if they are treating the shots as mandatory, you can give them a form that they have to sign stating that should the child have the inoculations, no vaccine injury will take place.
Wish they would have given you the option if opting out, like mom2eliza's agency did. Then, if you wanted to, you could have done the shots at home and paced them out.

not sure you'll get this before its all over.... but Tom wanted me to try to reach out and tell you this info. :o)

praying!

It's nice to know that you're in a comforatble and familiar place. Just last night Hayleigh and I were looking at photos of the boys and her on the couch at the White Swan! It was fun. She's a cutie!

Though they miss you, the kids are all doing well. They slept well last night, and are all ready for the day today. We're glad we get to have them, even for a short time!

We'll keep praying for you.
